David Spottiswoode studied with Timothy Redman at St. Mary's
Cathedral, Glasgow and with John Langdon at the Royal Scottish
Academy of Music before moving to New York as Director of Music of Our
Lady of Guadalupe and Assistant organist of St. Frances of Assisi in
Manhattan. Returning to the UK, he became Assistant organist of St.
Mary's Cathedral and later, St Andrew's Cathedral in Glasgow and more
recently, Organist of St. Bride's Church in the West End.
He was appointed Organist and Choirmaster at St Ninian’s in August
2011
In the 1990s, he co-founded and conducted 'Polyphony', a Glasgow
based choir, which performed 15th and 16th Century music in its
liturgical context. David enjoys working with small choirs and has a
particular interest in the psalms. He is also a composer of chamber
music and music for the church.
